What affects the price

The final price for your hardscape project depends on a few key factors. First, the size of the area and the specific materials you choose—like natural stone versus standard concrete—will change the bottom line. Site conditions also matter; if your yard requires significant grading, drainage work, or removal of old structures, costs will rise. Complex patterns or built-in features like fire pits and retaining walls add labor time. Exact pricing confirmed free on the call.

About this service

Patio pavers are modular stones used to create long-lasting, permeable outdoor surfaces. You need them when you want to avoid the cracking common with traditional concrete slabs or if you prefer a classic, high-end look. Costs depend on the specific material chosen, such as concrete or natural stone, and the site preparation needed. Exact pricing confirmed free on the call.

Frequently asked in Richmond

Is it cheaper to lay concrete or pavers?

While concrete might have a lower initial cost, pavers often present better long-term value. Pavers are more resilient to cracking from Richmond's temperature fluctuations. If a paver gets damaged, it's easier and cheaper to replace just that one piece.

Where is the cheapest place to buy pavers?

For the most affordable paver options in the Richmond area, explore local landscape supply centers and garden supply stores. Buying directly from these suppliers can often offer better pricing than big-box retailers. Look for sales or consider less elaborate paver styles.

Do I really need sand under pavers?

Absolutely. A layer of coarse aggregate sand is fundamental for a stable paver installation. This sand bed ensures the pavers lie flat and level, accommodating minor shifts and providing essential drainage, which is important for Richmond's rainfall.

How much would a 20x20 paver patio cost?

What is meant by hardscaping?

Hardscaping encompasses all the non-living elements of your landscape. This includes patios, walkways, retaining walls, and driveways, built from materials like stone, brick, or concrete. It provides structure and functionality to your outdoor areas in Richmond.

What is an example of hardscaping?

A beautiful paver patio constructed in your Richmond backyard is a prime example of hardscaping. Other common examples include stone walkways, brick garden walls, or a concrete driveway. These elements define and enhance your property's outdoor usability.
